Biography

Anselm was a bi­shop of Luc­ca, Ita­ly. The ci­ty of Man­tua re­gards him as its pa­tron saint. His suc­cess­or, Ran­ge­ri­us, wrote a bio­gra­phy of him.

He is some­times con­fused with his un­cle of the same name, who lat­er be­came Pope Al­ex­an­der II.
