Adoniram was the son of John Henry Arrick and Sarah Ann Moore, and husband of Martha Isabell Snider.
He graduated from McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, Illinois, and was ordained by the Presbytery of Muncie, Indiana, in 1890.
He served pastorates in Hartford City, Indiana (1890–92); Mount Sterling, Kentucky (1892–98); Louisville, Kentucky (1898–1904); Dayton, Indiana (1904–07); and Kendallville, Indiana (1907).
