Biography

Richard was the son of Ches­ter Her­bert Ave­ry and Rose Brad­ford.

He at­tend­ed the Uni­vers­ity of Red­lands, Ca­li­for­nia (BA) and Un­ion Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry, New York City (MDiv).

He was pas­tor of the First Pres­by­ter­ian Church, Port Jer­vis, New York, from 1960 to at least 1979. He wrote ov­er 100 hymns.
