Biography

Adin was the son of Ari­el and Edil­da Bal­lou.

He was a Uni­ta­ri­an min­is­ter and found­er of the Hope­dale Com­mu­ni­ty in Mas­sa­chu­setts.

He was known as a pro­po­nent of pa­ci­fism, so­cial­ism and abo­li­tion.
