Biography

Leon was the son of John Jef­fer­son Beck and Su­sanne Van­di­ver, and hus­band of Go­lia Fran­cis Jef­freys.

Beck stu­died mu­sic at the Eu­re­ka Nor­mal School and un­der R. L. Page, S. O. Ma­nor and oth­er in­struct­ors.

He went on to teach at some 75 schools hims­elf, and serve at sing­ing con­ven­tions for de­cades.
