Biography

Ole was the son of Gul­brand Gul­lik­sen Bels­heim and Gu­ro Ols­dat­ter Sæte, and hus­band of Eda Ma­bel Black­lin.

He emi­grat­ed to Am­eri­ca with his fa­mi­ly at age five. He at­tend­ed Lu­ther College, De­cor­ah, Iowa; North­field Se­mi­na­ry; and Augs­burg Se­mi­na­ry, Min­ne­so­ta.

He held pas­tor­ates in Mil­wau­kee, Wis­con­sin; Al­bert Lea, Min­ne­so­ta; Grand Mea­dow, Min­ne­so­ta; Man­dan, North Da­ko­ta; and was the first pa­stor of Tri­ni­ty Ev­an­ge­li­cal Lu­ther­an Church, Bis­marck, North Da­ko­ta (1908–15).

He was a mem­ber of the com­mit­tee that pro­duced The Lu­ther­an Hym­na­ry in 1913, ed­it­ed Chris­tian Youth for two years, and trans­lat­ed Nils J. J. Lache’s Ca­te­chism into Eng­lish in 1894.
