Buried: Tri­ni­ty Church­yard, Tri­ni­ty and Wall Street, Man­hat­tan, New York.

Biography

Samuel was the son of George Bix­by and Sa­bi­na Mer­rill, and hus­band of Ma­ry Eli­za­beth Trap­ha­gen (mar­ried Sep­tem­ber 2, 1862).

His com­pa­ny ma­nu­fac­tured shoe black­ings and shoe dress­ings, but mu­sic was his pas­sion. He was al­so a Sun­day school su­per­in­tend­ent and choir lead­er.
