Biography

Mattie was the daugh­ter of Ed­ward Bo­tel­er and Mar­tha A. Lock­hart.

She con­trib­ut­ed to a num­ber of ma­ga­zines, such as the Youth’s Com­pan­ion, the Home Jour­nal, and the In­de­pend­ent. In ad­di­tion, she ed­it­ed the Look­out (1891–1911).
