Buried: New­ing­ton Ce­me­te­ry, New­ing­ton, Con­nec­ti­cut.

Biography

Seth was the son of Rev­er­end Jo­ab Grace and Lu­cy Col­lins.

He gra­du­at­ed from Yale Col­lege in 1832, then stu­died at the Yale Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry.

He en­tered the Pres­by­te­ri­an min­is­try in 1842, but lat­er moved to the Con­gre­ga­tion­al­ist de­nom­in­ation.

From 1842–44, he taught ma­the­ma­tics and rhe­tor­ic at New­ark Col­lege, which lat­er be­came the Uni­ver­si­ty of De­la­ware.

In 1861, he be­came pas­tor of a Con­gre­ga­tion­al church in Be­tha­ny, Con­nec­ti­cut.

He re­tired from the min­is­try due to ill­ness.
