Biography

Howard was the son of John Bar­nard Brown and Fan­nie Longs­don, and hus­band of Mar­ga­ret Win­ter.

He di­rect­ed Ca­li­for­nia Chris­tian En­dea­vor, an in­ter­na­tion­al church youth or­ga­ni­za­tion (1930–40). In those years this was a large or­ga­ni­za­tion, es­pe­cial­ly in the Los An­ge­les-Or­ange Coun­ty area.

He wrote ma­ny spi­rit­ual songs with his wife Mar­ga­ret.
