A member of the Mennonite denomination, attended the New England Conservatory of Music and taught music at West Central Academy, Mt. Clinton, Virginia, and Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, Virginia. He also headed the School of Music at Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana. His works include:
