Biography

Daniel was the son of Pe­la­ti­ah Buck and Bet­sy Da­na King. He mar­ried twice, to Phi­le­na Al­drich (Ja­nu­ary 3, 1837) and Lo­ra­na At­water Al­drich (Au­gu­st 4, 1870).

A Me­tho­dist Epis­co­pal min­is­ter for 60 years, he worked in the Ge­nes­ee (West­ern New York, now Up­per New York) Con­fer­ence, East Ge­nes­ee Con­fer­ence, and Cen­tral New York Con­fer­ence.

During the Am­er­ican ci­vil war, he was a chap­lain with Com­pa­ny S, 27th In­fan­try Re­gi­ment New York (1861–62).
