Biography

William was the son of Tho­mas Spen­cer Cham­bers and Nan­cy Ann Roe, and hus­band of Ma­ry Al­ice Spence (mar­ried No­vem­ber 6, 1907, Brown­wood, Tex­as.

He moved with his par­ents to Brown Coun­ty, Tex­as, in 1893.

He at­tend­ed the pub­lic schools of Ala­ba­ma, and sev­er­al high schools in Tex­as, but re­ceived most of his edu­ca­tion from an eld­er bro­ther, W. H. Cham­bers.

He stu­died mu­sic un­der Ru­fus Cor­ne­li­us.

A farm­er and ranch­er, he taught school for 28 years, and was a Tex­as state rep­re­sent­ative for Brown and Cole­man Coun­ties for 18 years.
