Biography

It seems like­ly this peson is Neal Cor­ne­li­us Chee­tham (1844–1917) (al­so spelled Cha­tham or Cheat­um) (al­so see Wi­ki­pe­dia), a Christ­ian Church min­is­ter.

Pioneer His­to­ry states Chee­tham was born in Penn­syl­van­ia, moved to Io­wa in 1854, and went to col­lege in Os­ka­loo­sa, Iowa, where To­day was pub­lished in 1877.

Steel & Searl’s Le­gi­slat­ive Sou­ve­nir Ma­nu­al for 1895–1896, page 88, re­ports that in 1879, Chee­tham moved from Iowa to Wash­ing­ton state, where he ev­en­tu­al­ly served as state au­dit­or, but re­sumed ev­ang­el­ism after leav­ing gov­ern­ment ser­vice.
