Biography

Edward was the son of Lew­is Clisbee and Han­nah Farr, and hus­band of Oliv­ia Lyd­ia Bar­tho­lo­mew (mar­ried 1851, Ash­ta­bu­la, Ohio).

He gra­du­at­ed from Ober­lin Col­lege in 1849, then at­tend­ed An­do­ver Theo­lo­gic­al Sem­in­ary in Mas­sa­chu­setts.

He was or­dained a Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­ter in 1856, and held pas­tor­ates at va­ri­ous lo­ca­tions in Ohio.
