Biography

Americus was the son of James and Amer­ica Con­ner, and hus­band of Mary J. Cad­wal­la­der (mar­ried 1875).

A Dis­ci­ples of Christ min­is­ter like his father, he was or­dained in 1875. He held pas­tor­ates in Penn­syl­van­ia, In­di­ana, Il­li­nois, and Ca­na­da.

In 1909, he found­ed the Boys Friends, and pub­lished the move­ment’s ma­ga­zine for five years. He was al­so a Chau­tau­qua lec­tur­er.

Copyright re­cords show Con­ner liv­ing in Dan­ville, In­di­ana, in 1897. He re­tired around 1924 and moved to In­di­an­apo­lis.
