Died: Ju­ly 14, 1877, at his home Bron-y-gan, Ce­maes, Mon­mouth, Wales.

Buried: Old Cha­pel grave­yard.

Biography

Richard was the son of Da­ni­el Da­vies, dea­con and pre­cent­or in the Old Cha­pel. He took his bard­ic name Myn­ydd­og from New­ydd Fyny­ddog, a hill near his home.

He con­duct­ed eisteddfod in both Eng­land and Wales, and vis­it­ed Am­er­ica in 1876.
