Introduction

Biography

Clara was the daugh­ter of Da­vid Mel­ick Fort and Glor­vin­ia Ma­lo­ney, and wife of Le­mi Brad­ley Den­ton (mar­ried 1865, De­troit, Mi­chi­gan).

In ad­di­tion to writ­ing child­ren’s books, she served as first pre­si­dent of the Grand Ra­pids [Mi­chi­gan] Wo­men’s Club, and the first post­mas­ter of Pru­den­ville, Mi­chi­gan.
