Biography

Son of com­pos­er John B. Dykes, John the young­er was a Pro­fess­or of Pi­ano at the Roy­al Aca­de­my of Mu­sic for half a cen­tu­ry. Among his stu­dents was com­pos­er Ri­chard An­tho­ny Say­er Ar­nell (1917–2009).

Dykes’ mu­sic ap­peared in The Eng­lish Hym­nal of 1906.
