Biography

Herschel was the son of Hen­der­son Pat­ric Ea­gle and Ma­ria Lou­ise (Min­nie) Max­well, and hus­band of Ed­ward Loyd Hub­bard (spell­ing per mar­riage li­cense and cer­ti­fi­cate)

For a while, Ea­gle was a sing­ing teach­er at An­tho­ny Sho­wal­ter’s South­ern Nor­mal In­sti­tute.

Copyright re­cords in­di­cate Ea­gle was in Dal­ton, Geor­gia, in 1908. From 1914 to at least 1925, he was liv­ing in Burke’s Gar­den, Vir­gin­ia.

In 1918, he was a mem­ber of the Big Quar­tet, which per­formed and pro­mot­ed songs for Sho­wal­ter’s mu­sic pub­lish­ing com­pa­ny.
