Biography

Zeva was the son of James T. Ed­wor­thy and Eli­za Jane Cot­ton.

He was edu­cat­ed at Wash­burn Col­lege, To­pe­ka, Kan­sas (AB 1904), and North­west­ern Uni­ver­si­ty, Ev­an­ston, Il­li­nois (MA 1923).

Raised a Pres­by­ter­ian, he lat­er moved to the Me­tho­dist de­no­mi­na­tion.

He served as Di­rect­or of Young Peo­ple’s Work and Lead­er­ship Train­ing for the Co­lo­ra­do Coun­cil of Re­li­gious Edu­ca­tion. He was lat­er an el­der in the Me­tho­dist West Vir­gin­ia Con­fer­ence.

In No­vem­ber 1925, be­came ge­ne­ral sec­re­ta­ry of the West Vir­gin­ia Coun­cil of Church­es and Chris­tian Edu­ca­tion.
