Biography

August mar­ried Ly­dia May West on Oc­to­ber 4, 1899. The next day, he was or­dained an Ad­vent Chris­tian min­is­ter in West­brook, Maine.

He earned BA & BD de­grees from his de­no­mi­nation’s New Eng­land School of Theo­lo­gy, then, by cor­res­pond­ence, a Ba­che­lor of Sac­red Lit­er­ature from Io­wa Christ­ian College, and MA from Po­to­mac Uni­vers­ity.

He served pas­tor­ates in Ox­ford, Maine (1899–1902); Dov­er-Fox­croft, Maine (1901–08); Whit­man, Mas­sa­chu­setts (1908-15); and Lit­tle­ton, New Hamp­shire (1915 until his death). In addition, he preached on Sun­day af­ter­noons in White­field and East­on, New Hamp­shire.

He spoke at camp meet­ings in New Eng­land and Ca­li­fornia, and for ma­ny years was pre­si­dent of the Ad­vent Christ­ian New Hamp­shire Conf­er­ence.
