Biography

Giles was the son of Tho­mas Far­na­by, and hus­band of Ka­ther­ine Roane (mar­ried May 28, 1587).

He gra­du­at­ed with a BMus de­gree from Christ Church, Ox­ford, July 7, 1592.

He and his wife Kath­er­ine first lived in St. Hel­en’s par­ish, Bi­shops­gate, Lon­don. In 1602, the family moved to Ais­thorpe, Lin­coln­shire, and by 1611, he was liv­ing in Lon­don.

He com­posed sev­er­al doz­en piec­es for the key­board, psal­ter, and can­zo­nets.
