Giles was the son of Thomas Farnaby, and husband of Katherine Roane (married May 28, 1587).
He graduated with a BMus degree from Christ Church, Oxford, July 7, 1592.
He and his wife Katherine first lived in St. Helen’s parish, Bishopsgate, London. In 1602, the family moved to Aisthorpe, Lincolnshire, and by 1611, he was living in London.
He composed several dozen pieces for the keyboard, psalter, and canzonets.
