Biography

This John Faw­cett, a com­pos­er, should not be con­fused with John Faw­cett the hymn writ­er.

Fawcett start­ed his ca­reer as a shoe mak­er, but taught him­self to be a mu­si­cian. In 1825, he moved to Bol­ton, Lan­ca­shire, and be­came an or­gan­ist, choir lead­er, and com­pos­er.
