Biography

Son of a Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­ter, Ford en­tered Wy­mond­ley Col­lege, Lit­tle Wy­mond­ley, Hert­ford­shire, in 1816. The school moved to Byng Place, Lon­don, in 1833, where it be­came known as Cow­ard Col­lege.

He served as pas­tor of the Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church at Lym­ing­ton, Hamp­shire (1821); Tra­vel­ing Sec­re­ta­ry to the Con­gre­ga­tion­al Union (1841); and pas­tor of Greens­gate Cha­pel, Sal­ford, Man­ches­ter (1843).
