Franck served as Kapellmeister at Ansbach (1673–79). After committing manslaughter in a jealous rage, he fled to Hamburg, and wrote 14 operas (1679–86).
He reportedly moved to Spain in 1688, but by 1690 was in London, where he performed with Robert King.
