Biography

Johann was the son of Jo­hann Mi­chael Frech, a watch­mak­er and or­gan build­er.

He be­came as­sist­ant mas­ter of the school at De­ger­loch at age 16. He af­ter­ward stu­died mu­sic un­der Jus­tin Knecht and oth­ers.

In 1811, he set­tled at Ess­ling­en as as­sist­ant in a school, and a year lat­er be­came teach­er and, then mu­sic di­rect­or, in the se­mi­na­ry, and or­gan­ist of the church in Ess­ling­en.
