Biography

When Gibbs was around three years old, his fa­mi­ly moved to South Af­ri­ca, and he grew up in Roo­de­port, near Jo­han­nes­burg.

In World War I, he served as a chap­lain in mi­li­ta­ry train­ing camps.

After the war, he went to the Moo­dy Bi­ble In­st­itute, Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois, and there be­came in­volved with res­cue mis­sions.
