Gilman was raised in the Con­gre­ga­tion­alist de­no­mi­na­tion.

Works

He helped ed­it the 1909 & 1933 Fel­low­ship Hymn-Book from the Na­tion­al Adult School Un­ion and the Bro­ther­hood Move­ment.

His other works in­clude:
