Born: Sep­tem­ber 2, 1903, Ro­by, Mer­sey­side, Eng­land.

Died: Oc­to­ber 22, 2000, Nor­wich, Eng­land. His ash­es were scat­tered on the grounds of the Me­thod­ist re­tirement home in­to which he and his wife moved in 1990.

Biography

Green was ed­u­cat­ed at Ry­dal School, Col­wyn Bay, and Dids­bu­ry Col­lege, Man­ches­ter.

Before turn­ing to hymn writ­ing, he served as a Cir­cuit Min­is­ter, and Su­per­in­ten­dent, and for se­ven years as Chair­man of the Me­thod­ist York and Hull Dis­trict.
