Biography

Rufus was the son of Is­aac G. Grish­am and Sa­rah Eli­za­beth Ma­son, and hus­band of La­va­da Bush (mar­ried 1912).

For the last 11 years of his life, he lived in El­lis­ville, Mis­sis­sip­pi, where he ran the Ho­tel Grish­am un­til it burned down a few months be­fore his death.

He is re­mem­bered as a sing­ing teach­er, au­thor, song book pub­lish­er, and re­cord­ing art­ist.
