Died: Jan­ua­ry 10, 1963, Clac­ton, Es­sex, Eng­land.

Biography

John was the son of Tho­mas Hands and Em­ma Daw­son.

The 1901 cen­sus lists him as an ir­on­mon­ger’s as­sist­ant and or­gan­ist (pre­sum­a­bly hold­ing down two jobs).

An As­so­ci­ate of the Roy­al Col­lege of Or­gan­ists, he played the or­gan at St. Paul’s Wes­ley­an Cha­pel, Bed­ford, Bed­ford­shire, Eng­land, as of 1904.

The 1911 cen­sus shows he had moved from Bed­ford and was a school­mas­ter in Sheb­bear, North Dev­on.
