Died: 1913, Rock County Wisconsin. There are a number of Hartshorns buried in the Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, Wisconsin, though not Irving.

There is a record at Ancestry.com for an Irving Webster Hartshorn (1832–1913, son of Eber and Lydia Hartshorn), who died September 3, 1913, Clinton, Wisconsin. It is not clear if this is the same person as W. Irving Hartshorn (perhaps an erroneous transposition of Webster Irving?). All published music by Hartshorn gives his name as W. Irving (not Webster).

Hartshorn’s earliest known music, Sweet Lilla Lee, was published in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1856.
