Hassler studied music under his father, musician Isaac Hassler, and with Andrea Gabrieli, who at the time was organist of St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice, Italy.
Hassler served as organist for Count Octavian Fugger of the famous Fugger family in Augsburg, Germany; at the Frauenkirche in Nuremberg; and for Prince Christian II of Saxony at Dresden.
