Biography

Hassler stu­died mu­sic un­der his fa­ther, mu­sician Is­aac Hass­ler, and with An­drea Ga­bri­e­li, who at the time was or­gan­ist of St. Mark’s Ca­thed­ral in Ve­nice, It­aly.

Hassler served as or­gan­ist for Count Oc­ta­vi­an Fug­ger of the fa­mous Fug­ger fa­mi­ly in Augs­burg, Ger­ma­ny; at the Frau­en­kirche in Nur­em­berg; and for Prince Chris­tian II of Sax­ony at Dres­den.
