Biography

Donald was the hu­sband of Fran­ces Heins.

He stu­died in Leip­zig, Ger­ma­ny, and in Lon­don. He emi­grat­ed to Ca­na­da in 1902, set­tling in Ot­ta­wa.

He taught mu­sic in the pub­lic schools and, start­ing in 1927, at the To­ron­to Con­ser­va­to­ry of Mu­sic.

He was al­so as­sist­ant con­duc­tor for the To­ron­to Sym­pho­ny.
