Biography

Amos was the son of Men­non­ite bi­shop Chris­tian Herr of Pe­quea, Penn­syl­van­ia, and Anna Forrer. He mar­ried twice, to Eli­za­beth Rohr­er and Sar­ah Wit­mer Groff.

He lived along Bea­ver Val­ley Pike in Lan­cas­ter Coun­ty.

He was or­dained a Men­non­ite preach­er in 1850.
