Biography

Son of Tho­mas Hew­lett, Tho­mas stu­died un­der Leigh­ton Hayne, and earned his BMus de­gree from Ox­ford.

He played the or­gan for the Duke of Bucc­leuch (1865–71); St. Pe­ter’s Church, Ed­in­burgh (1868–69); St. Ma­ry’s Ro­man Ca­tho­lic Church, Ed­in­burgh; and New­ing­ton Par­ish Church, Ed­inb­urgh (1873–74).
