Jabusch was educated at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein, Illinois (BA, STB, MA); Loyola University, Chicago; and Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois (PhD 1968). He also studied music at the Chicago Conservatory of Music and the University of London.
He was parish priest for St. James Catholic Church, Chicago (1956–61), and taught at Quigley Preparatory School, Chicago (1961–63); Niles College, Loyola University (1963–66); and St. Mary of the Lake Seminary (1968).
