Julian was the son of Lyman Jordan and Susan Beckwith. He married twice, to Adelia Sophia Swift and Anna Ross.
A composer, vocal instructor and singer, he worked with publisher Willis Woodward & Company, at 84 South Broadway in New York City’s Tin Pan Alley.
His most popular work was The Song That Reached My Heart.
