Biography

As of 1884, when she wrote I Can­not Tell if Short or Long, Knowl­ton was a school-girl in Il­li­nois. “The au­thor mar­ried, re­moved to Min­ne­so­ta or Da­ko­ta…[and] her name, merged in that of her hus­band, has…es­caped ob­ser­va­tion” (Duf­field, p. 238).
