Biography

Elijah was the hus­band of Lou­isa El­la White.

He was a Me­tho­dist Epis­co­pal cler­gy­man in the North­west In­di­ana Con­fer­ence. He was an itin­er­ant min­is­ter for 43 years, and served 23 charg­es, ma­ny of them be­ing large cir­cuits. Short­ly be­fore his death, he was a Pro­hi­bi­tion­ist no­mi­nee for Con­gress from In­di­an­apo­lis.
