Biography

Lighthall was the hus­band of An­nie May O’Dell.

A Me­tho­dist, as of 1881, he lived in L’Aca­die, in the St. Jean re­gion of Qué­bec. That same year, he moved just across the bor­der to Rous­es Point, New York, where he was edu­cat­ed.

He was lat­er a sta­tion agent and te­le­graph­er for the De­la­ware and Hud­son Rail­road for ov­er 30 years.

Lighthall was ac­tive in the Pres­by­ter­ian church, the Young Peo­ple’s So­ci­ety of Chris­tian En­dea­vor, the Young Men’s Chris­tian As­so­cia­tion, the Odd Fel­lows and the Ma­sons.

He served at least 15 years as a mem­ber and pre­si­dent of the Rous­es Point pub­lic school board.
