Biography

Conrad was the son of Gillian Christian Lint and Elizabeth Hochstetler, and husband of Catharine Elizabeth Flickinger.

In his early years, he worked as a blacksmith. He was also the first justice of the peace in Summit township for 14 years.

On June 16, 1855, the day of his baptism, Lint was made a deacon of the local congregation of the German Baptist Brethren church in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, unusual for such a new member.

On June 24, 1855, eight days after his baptism, he was admitted to the ministry.

At the time he entered the ministry, he had been teaching vocal music, but had to discontinue the classes due to his new pastoral duties.

He served as pastor of the church where was baptized for 50 years. In 1865, he became bishop of his church’s district.
