Died: No­vem­ber 9, 1888, Bex­ley Heath (near Lon­don), Eng­land.

Biography

William was the son of John Mac­call, a trades­man, and Eli­za­beth Mur­doch.

He earned a Mas­ter of Arts de­gree from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Glas­gow, then stu­died theo­lo­gy in Ge­ne­va, Swit­zer­land.

Ordained a Uni­ta­ri­an min­is­ter, he pas­tored in Bol­ton, Lan­ca­shire (1837–40) and Cre­dit­on, De­von­shire (1841–46), then moved to Lon­don.
