The Scran­ton, Penn­syl­van­ia, Trib­une of June 24, 1890, page 3, de­scribes a W. N. Man­ches­ter as a sing­ing teach­er, pos­si­bly at the Key­stone Aca­de­my. Scran­ton is about 60 miles north­east of Dan­ville, where Man­ches­ter’s mu­sic for Onward, Chris­tian! was pub­lished in 1897.
