Biography

John was the son of Eliz­abeth A. Ginn, and hus­band of Mary Eli­za Burt.

He was edu­cat­ed at Simp­son Col­lege, In­di­an­ola, Iowa; Io­wa Wes­ley­an Col­lege, Mount Plea­sant, Io­wa; and the Bos­ton Uni­vers­ity School of Theo­lo­gy.

He served pas­tor­ates in Io­wa, Il­li­nois, Rhode Is­land, New York, and Kan­sas. He al­so served as sec­re­ta­ry of the Board of Sun­day Schools in New York Ci­ty, sec­re­ta­ry of the Sun­day School Un­ion, and ed­it­or of Sun­day school ma­te­ri­als for the Me­thod­ist Epis­co­pal Church.
