Biography

Mark was the son of Will­iam Mar­tin Mc­Kee and Thur­sey Jane Huff.

Census re­cords show McKee taught in the pub­lic schools from at least 1910 to 1930.

A Metho­dist, he is cred­it­ed with writ­ing some 300 songs and hymns. His Sing­ing for Je­sus ap­peared in Re­quest­ed Songs New and Old, by James Fer­rill and James Tho­mas (Fort Worth, Tex­as: Quar­tet Mu­sic, 1932).

He was sec­re­ta­ry of the South­west Mon­ta­gue Coun­ty [Tex­as] Sing­ing Con­ven­tion for 17 years.
