Biography

Son of a farm­er and smith, Or­heim came to Christ in 1900. He want­ed to st­udy theo­lo­gy, but eye prob­lems (lead­ing to lat­er blind­ness) pre­vent­ed this.

Despite his han­di­cap, he be­came a fa­mous lay preach­er, au­thor and sing­er, and was well known for his glass mu­sic.

His wife Ma­ria fol­lowed him in death by on­ly a few hours.

Works

He ed­it­ed 13 po­et­ry col­lect­ions and one mu­sic col­lect­ion, wrote about a thou­sand hymns and spir­it­ual songs, and com­posed some 200 me­lo­dies.
