Biography

Ovens, a min­is­ter, was edu­cat­ed at Sid­ney Sus­sex Col­lege, Cam­bridge (MA, LLB), and at Wycliffe Hall, Ox­ford.

For ov­er 30 years, he con­duct­ed sea­side mis­sions in North­ern Ire­land un­der the ban­ner of the Child­ren’s Spe­cial Ser­vice Mis­sion (now known as the Scrip­ture Un­ion). He was al­so an hon­or­ary cur­ate in the Church of Eng­land.

His sur­name is some­times (in­cor­rect­ly) giv­en as Ov­en or Ow­ens.
