Biography

Patten at­tend­ed Col­by Uni­ver­si­ty (AB 1890) and re­ceived his theo­lo­gy de­gree from Bang­or Theo­lo­gic­al Sem­in­ary (1893).

He was or­dained a Con­gre­ga­tion­al min­is­ter in Ev­er­ett, Mas­sa­chu­setts, Feb­ru­ary 1, 1894.

He pas­tored at the First Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church in Ev­er­ett (1895–97); First Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church, South Had­ley, Mas­sa­chu­setts (1897–1905); First Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church, San­ta Ro­sa, Ca­li­for­nia (1905–09); Sac­ra­men­to, Ca­li­for­nia (1909–17); For­est Grove Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church, Ore­gon (1917–19); Cen­ter Church, Tor­ring­ton, Con­nec­ti­cut (1919–29); and the Ma­di­son Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church, Con­nec­ti­cut (1929–34).
